Today, May 24, 307 Ukrainian servicemen returned from Russian captivity. This news was announced by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, sharing touching videos of the released. According to Lubinets, this journey home was not easy due to the cold of captivity, the silence of waiting, and the pain that did not kill hope.

“I want to tell my family that I am fine. I was in captivity for six months and I am going home. Please wait for me,” said one of the released soldiers.

From the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, it was reported that some servicemen were able to be released for the first Time from some units and military units. Yesterday, May 23, another 390 Ukrainians returned, which was the first stage of implementing a large-scale agreement with Russia, which envisages the release of 1,000 Ukrainians from captivity.

Among the released Ukrainians are civilians and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including representatives of various military units. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the return of all Ukrainians from Russian captivity is one of the key tasks for the state.

Recently, negotiations took place between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul. European leaders expressed concern about Russia's position during these negotiations, emphasizing that it is Moscow that hinders the ceasefire process.

Analyzing events, it is worth noting the importance of freeing Ukrainian prisoners of war and the ongoing quest for peace and support for law enforcement agencies that protect state independence.
