The Russian Federation has contacted the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) requesting to act as a mediator in negotiations with Washington regarding American nuclear fuel stored at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Russia expresses a desire to restart the ZNPP, located near the front line in the Ukrainian war, but faces issues with electricity and water supply for cooling the nuclear reactor.
