Combat readiness and nuclear potential: Britain announced a large-scale defense reform.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a reform of the Armed Forces, including an expansion of the country's nuclear potential. At the same Time, he did not specify when London would start spending 3% of the national GDP on defense.
According to publications Bloomberg, The Guardian, and BBC, Starmer stated that the UK is entering a state of 'combat readiness' due to increasing threats and instability in the world. The government plans to invest $20 billion in a nuclear warhead program and construction of submarines as part of the AUKUS partnership with the USA and Australia.
'If you want to prevent conflict, the best way to do it is to prepare for it... The world has changed: we must be ready'.
Starmer identified three main objectives of the defense spending review: to be ready for combat, to strengthen contributions to NATO, and to implement innovations at 'war-time pace'.
It is worth noting that the UK is in negotiations to purchase F-35A fighters to deter Russia.
