Potato prices have been a surprise for producers and buyers.

This year's potato prices in Ukraine are very favorable
This allows producers to earn. As "Khvilya" reports, this was discussed by the head of the FG "Shans" Vasyl Shamborovskyi, according to AgroPortal.ua.
The potato market this year has made a pleasant surprise both for producers and consumers. At the beginning of the season, potato prices started at 8 hryvnias per kilogram. Later, the price increased: second-grade potatoes began to be sold for 9 hryvnias per kilogram, and first-grade – for 11-12 hryvnias.
"Prices are good this year, if it were like this every year, you could work well. But it differs for everyone. For example, my colleague plants potatoes under agrofibre, starts to dig from June. He grows different varieties than I do - specifically Riviera, applies irrigation, but as a result, gets somewhat less", - the farmer said.
"Shans" farm cultivates 1 thousand hectares of land, in crop rotation 13 crops, but potatoes are given the most attention, as it's hard to predict what will be a win and what will be a loss.
"Potatoes are one of the most profitable and most energy-consuming crops. 40 hectares of potatoes cover us in work, probably like 300 hectares of wheat, maybe even more. We had 300 hectares of wheat, 200 hectares of soybeans, in a day we harvest 80 hectares of soybeans, but only 1 hectare of potatoes", – explained Shamborovskyi.
