The UK government has announced that a large tranche of financial aid amounting to 752 million pounds sterling (over 868 million euros) has been transferred to Ukraine. This tranche is the second part of a total loan of 2.26 billion pounds sterling. These funds are provided from the profits of frozen Russian assets under EU sanctions. The agreement was signed by Ukraine's Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves.

«The world is changing before our eyes, reshaped by global instability, including Russian aggression in Ukraine. A strong Ukraine is vital for the national security of the United Kingdom, and this second tranche of funding will help it take a stronger position and contribute to our collective security,» Reeves stated.

The UK Defense Minister Jon Healey noted that 2025 is critical for Ukraine, so the United Kingdom supports Ukraine in deterring Russian aggression and strengthening its national security.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the receipt of funds and noted that this money will be used to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. He expressed gratitude to the UK government and G7 partners for their support and assistance.

Earlier, G7 partners allocated 21 billion and new military equipment for Ukraine to enhance its defense capabilities and deter Russian aggression.
