On January 21, at the Australian Open, Marta Kostyuk and Elena-Gabriela Ruse lost to the tennis players Se Shuwei and Alona Ostapenko, exiting the tournament after the quarter-finals. The first set ended with a score of 2:6 against the Ukrainian-Romanian duo. However, in the second set they managed to recover and won with a score of 7:5. It seemed that Kostyuk and Ruse might change the situation in the third set, but in the last game they lost with a score of 5:7. In the semi-finals, the winners will meet Mia Kato and Renata Sarasuá or Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe.
