Every shelling of Odesa causes damage of 100 million,— Trukhanov.

The mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, stated that each shelling in the city costs nearly 100 million for the restoration of damaged buildings. This is a serious financial burden on the city budget, as the city council has to regularly allocate funds for repair work after attacks.

Damage from shelling

The mayor noted that in the last two weeks, strikes have led to damage to residential buildings, mainly the upper floors. This has necessitated the allocation of funds for emergency and reconstruction measures at every city council session.

“Essentially, it takes about 100 million to restore one facility after shelling. The situation is very complicated, as there needs to be a demolition first, and then the restoration of buildings. Almost every Time, funds are allocated at sessions for urgent measures. Only then for reconstruction,” — explained the mayor of Odesa.

Trukhanov also emphasized that shelling has the greatest impact on the city’s residential infrastructure. It was also reported that the damage from attacks is increasing daily, as well as the harm caused by Russian forces to Odesa’s cultural monuments.

The city mayor noted that every shelling brings serious financial costs for the restoration of destroyed buildings, creating significant difficulties for the budget. Attacks threaten not only the safety of residents but also the infrastructure and cultural values of the city, for which even more funds now have to be allocated for repairs and restoration.
