Massage for Prisoners on February 14: a Loud Scandal Erupted in France.

Inmates will be banned from facial massages and gifts
The head of the French Ministry of Justice, Gérald Darmanin, was furious after visiting a prison in the French city of Conde-sur-Sarthe. He learned that inmates received massage sessions and skincare cream as gifts for Valentine's Day.
According to reports, about 20 inmates at the Toulouse-Seiss prison received gifts from a local institution. This caused outrage among the institution's guards, who stated that a week earlier, inmates were organized a folk dance evening, and the following week, a yoga seminar was promised.
«There can be no talk of holding entertainment events. This shocks all our fellow citizens, and I was very shocked when I learned that this free activity, offered at the local level, was approved», - said Gérald Darmanin.
After the gift scandal in the prison, the Minister of Justice halted all «entertainment events». A new circular is also planned, which will limit the spectrum of recreational activities for inmates. The new rule will prohibit anything unrelated to education, language learning, and vocational training.
This is not the first case where the French penitentiary system finds itself in a scandal. In 2022, a blogger organized competitions between inmates and guards, which included events like go-kart racing and much more. This case sparked a negative reaction from the public, especially after it was revealed that dangerous criminals were among the participants.
Meanwhile, France continues to support Ukraine's accession to NATO, viewing it as the safest way to ensure its security.
