US Vice President urges pressure on all parties to the Middle East conflict
US Vice President Kamala Harris states that to end the conflict in the Middle East, pressure must be applied to all its parties. She stated this in an interview with CBS News, which will be aired on Monday evening.
"The assistance we provided to Israel has allowed Israel to defend itself from 200 ballistic missiles that were intended solely for attacking Israelis and the people of Israel," Harris said. "And when we think about the threat posed by Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, I believe it is, without any doubt, our duty to do everything we can to allow Israel to defend itself from such attacks".
Harris also noted that the American leadership is actively working on diplomatic efforts with Israel to express support for humanitarian aid demands, ending the war, and achieving a ceasefire.
In recent weeks, tensions in the Middle East have significantly increased. Israel carried out limited ground invasions into Lebanon, and Iran launched missiles at Israel.
