Head of the TCC who promised not to let his son fight went to the front.

The serviceman of the Dubno district recruitment center, Yuriy Kovalyuk, was dismissed after he stated that he would not allow his son to join the army. This information was disclosed by some media citing his interview. Kovalyuk stated that his son graduated from university and is preparing for a wedding, so he does not want to let him go to the army. In addition, Kovalyuk expressed his criticism of volunteers and the military system.
The press service of the Rivne regional recruitment center for training and support of forces, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, commented on Kovalyuk's interview and stated that it harms the country's defense capability. They also pointed out that the reasons for such statements may be personal circumstances or fatigue from service.
Yuriy Kovalyuk participated in battles for Ilovaisk and Savur-Mohyla, and led battalions of Territorial Defense Forces in Bakhmut, Kupiansk, and Sumy. He has numerous state and military awards and is married with two adult children, the elder of whom also serves under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Currently, the head of the Polohy district recruitment center, Viktor Yurchuk, expressed the opinion that working at the center is harder than being at the front.
