Unexpected Effect of Mobilization: Debtor Parents Rush to Pay Child Support.

Mobilization in Ukraine has a significant impact on men's attitudes towards paying child support for their minor children.
According to the Ministry of Justice, in 2024, the amount of child support payments increased by 30% compared to the previous year.
If a father has three minor children, he is entitled to a deferral from mobilization, but only if he fulfills his obligations for their maintenance. This means that being just a biological father is not enough - it means participating in the life of your child, including financially and paying child support on Time if needed.
The head of the Central Department of the Ministry of Justice, Kyrylo Minenko, also explained: "Such state mechanisms compel our citizens to take child support payments more seriously. The increase amounted to 30% compared to last year."
It is important to note that the right to a deferral can be renewed if the child support debt is settled.
This case demonstrates how legislative changes can significantly affect social behavior and citizens' responsibility, especially under martial law conditions.
