Romania increased ammunition purchases after the invasion of Russian drones into its territory.

Romania is strengthening its defense in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, accelerating the procurement of ammunition and urging NATO to respond to the invasion of the Russian Federation into their airspace. Their aggressive actions have forced Romania to rethink its military procurement capabilities to increase its defense capability.
The Romanian army needs to develop its internal potential for the production of military equipment for the armed forces and the maintenance of existing equipment, the protection of critical security interests, and the security of supplies. The council is also discussing the production of new equipment to enhance military potential during crisis and wartime.
At the council meeting, the latest aggressive actions of Russia and their impact on regional security in the Black Sea were reviewed. This has significant implications for Europe and the Euro-Atlantic region. Additional deterrence measures and countermeasures at the national level and with the support of NATO allies were discussed.
The Romanian Minister of Defense called on NATO for a decisive and coordinated response to the invasion of Russian missiles and drones into the country's airspace. The Bucharest Nine group, to which Romania belongs, also called for a strong and coordinated response at the Alliance level and the introduction of a rotational model of air and missile defense.
