How many Ukrainians returned to occupied Mariupol: MP announced terrible numbers.


About 150 thousand internally displaced persons returned to temporarily occupied territories due to lack of government assistance and problems with starting a new life in the controlled areas. This was reported by MP Maksym Tkachenko.
According to available data, 200 thousand Mariupol residents left their city because of the war brought by Russia to our land. Of these, every third person returned to occupied Mariupol, which amounts to about 67-70 thousand people. In my opinion, these are terrible numbers.
The main reason for their return is that displaced persons could not find housing and obtain social support in their new locations. Many of them also faced skepticism from employers and low wages, which complicated job searches.
One might even speak of discrimination against displaced persons in the labor market. Salaries often do not exceed 8-12 thousand hryvnias, while rental costs in other parts of Ukraine start from 10 thousand hryvnias.
Moreover, when displaced persons work, they lose their right to state compensation for housing rental. The MP also noted that there are not enough free places with decent living conditions.
At the same Time, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is engaged in the embezzlement of occupied Mariupol, selling equipment and exporting scrap metal on a large scale.
