Scholarship and Guaranteed Employment: The Admission Campaign for Vocational Schools Begins in Ukraine

The admission campaign for vocational schools started on July 1. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, high school graduates now have the opportunity to quickly enroll in vocational education institutions and obtain a popular specialty in the labor market immediately. The Minister of Education of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, emphasizes that modern vocational education helps youth get employed quickly, as most job vacancies correspond to professions that can be acquired in vocational schools.

“Increasing the number of vocational school entrants this year is our top priority. We are updating workshops in vocational schools so that students can learn on new equipment that meets labor market requirements. Vocational education is no longer a ‘Plan B.’ It is a conscious choice. It is an opportunity for young people to gain a profession, stay in Ukraine, create its new future, and develop the economy,”

To enroll in vocational schools, it is not necessary to take external independent evaluation. Applicants go through a competitive selection process, where each institution sets its own selection criteria. Many of them use the average score of the school certificate to form a ranking of candidates.

Conditions for Admission and Study

The conditions for admission and study at vocational educational institutions vary from 6 months to 3 years, depending on the chosen profession and previous educational level. Applications for admission must be submitted by the end of September either in person at the educational institution or online through the electronic cabinet on the EDBO website. Institutions determine the deadlines for document submission and usually accept applications from July 1 to the end of August, with possible additional enrollment until the end of September. To enroll, you need to have an application, a certificate of completion of 9 or 11 grades, photographs, a medical certificate, possible benefits, a copy of your passport or ID card.

The Minister of Education emphasizes the importance of increasing the number of students in vocational educational institutions and highlights the role of this education in the development of the economy and the future of the state.
