National Guard Championship of Ukraine in Futsal

On April 16-17, the National Guard Championship of Ukraine in futsal took place in Kyiv. The event was held at the sports complex of the Ukrainian State University of the Arts named after Mykhailo Dragomanov and was organized with the assistance of the National Guard and support from the Ukrainian Football Association, reports 'Hlavkom'.

The aim of the competition was to promote football among servicemen and support their physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Five teams from the territorial units of the National Guard and three teams from National Guard educational institutions participated in the competition:

  • North Territorial Unit (Kyiv);
  • Central Territorial Unit (Dnipro);
  • East Territorial Unit (Kharkiv);
  • South Territorial Unit (Odesa);
  • West Territorial Unit (Lviv);
  • Kharkiv Academy of the National Guard;
  • Kyiv Institute of the National Guard;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk Training Center of the National Guard.

The prize winners among the territorial units were:

  1. North Territorial Unit (Kyiv);
  2. South Territorial Unit (Odesa);
  3. Central Territorial Unit (Dnipro).

The best player, goalkeeper, and top scorer of the competition were also announced:

  • best player: Roman Bakum (North Territorial Unit);
  • best goalkeeper: Herman Horoviy (Central Territorial Unit);
  • top scorer: Mykola Lyashenko (South Territorial Unit).

In the educational institutions category, the prize winners were:

  1. Kharkiv Academy of the National Guard;
  2. Ivano-Frankivsk Training Center of the National Guard;
  3. Kyiv Institute of the National Guard.

The award ceremony featured Colonel Rostyslav Pasternak, head of the Department of Professional Training of the Main Department of the National Guard, Serhiy Vladyka, president of the Futsal Association of Ukraine, and Vladyslav Vashchuk, a former football player and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vashchuk congratulated the competition winners and the national futsal team of Ukraine on qualifying for the Euro-2026 finals.

'Our team's qualification for the Euro-2026 finals is a result of the hard work of the team, coaching staff, and the entire futsal community of Ukraine. We are proud of this achievement and moving forward with faith in new victories!' – said Serhiy Vladyka.

The competition was successful and contributed to the development of football among servicemen. The Ukrainian team's qualification for the Euro-2026 finals is a significant achievement for the country and symbolizes the growth of futsal in Ukraine.
