It is worth noting that the UN Human Rights High Commissioner has stated that the military junta in Myanmar restricts aid supply to areas where the population does not support its rule.
On April 7, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 struck the country. This earthquake was the strongest in the last hundred years in Myanmar and caused destruction of both ancient pagodas and modern buildings.
According to the UN, the humanitarian situation in the country was critical even before the earthquake.
