A 22-Year-Old Footballer Found Dead in His Bed
Luka Maiksner, a midfielder for the 'Reutlingen' club from Baden-Württemberg, died at the age of 22. This was reported by German media. He was found dead just before the New Year holidays.
Last weekend we received the terrible news that our player unexpectedly passed away on Friday, December 27. The entire 'Reutlingen' family is deeply saddened and shocked. His teammates, all club staff mourn together with Luka's relatives who have lost a loved one. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates. The cause of Maiksner's death has not been disclosed. He debuted for the main team of 'Reutlingen' in 2021 and played 100 matches for the club, scoring 6 goals. The last time he took the field was on December 7.

Ukraine has also lost one of its athletes. On January 4, former goalkeeper and coach of the Ukrainian youth national team Oleksandr Humeniuk suddenly passed away at the age of 48. This was reported by the press service of the Vyshgorod club 'Dinas', where he had worked in recent years.
Humeniuk began his career in Khmelnytskyi, then played for 'Dynamo' Kyiv, 'Borysfen', 'Chornomorets' (Odesa), 'Volyn' (Lutsk), and 'Metalist' (Kharkiv). He also coached the youth national football team of Ukraine and worked in clubs such as 'Vorskla', 'Bukovyna', and 'Poltava'.
During his playing career, Humeniuk played over a hundred matches, and his coaching work spanned decades. Among his achievements are the championship of the Second League, a bronze medal in the Ukrainian championship, and two semifinal appearances in the national Cup.
