Top managers of an Odesa company selling military equipment to the Russian Federation detained.


The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered a new scheme to bypass sanctions on the supply of Ukrainian products to the Russian Federation. Seven members of a criminal group that sold electrical equipment for military facilities in Russia were detained in Odesa. Throughout 2023, they supplied goods worth over $1 million to the Russian Federation, using shell companies outside of Ukraine. The clients of these goods are sanctioned companies supplying electrical equipment for military bases in the Russian Federation.
The founder of the enterprise in Odesa and his subordinates involved in this scheme were detained during searches. Documentation and technical means used in illegal activities were discovered. The detainees have been notified of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: aiding the aggressor state and creating, leading a criminal organization, as well as participating in it.
The perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. It is also worth noting that earlier, the Security Service and the National Police detained two agents of the Russian Federation who carried out a terrorist act in Kamianets-Podilskyi on February 5.
