Harry Potter star owes nearly $2.3 million in taxes due to declaration error.

Ukrainian actor Rupert Grint loses tax case in the UK
The well-known actor, famous for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, Rupert Grint has lost a tax dispute in the UK. According to the court's decision, Grint must pay £1.8 million ($2.3 million) due to an erroneous calculation of his tax declaration.
The 36-year-old Grint's lawyers filed an appeal, but it was rejected. The court ruled that the money received by the actor should have been taxed as income, not as capital gain.
For the 2011-2012 tax years, Grint received £4.5 million from his company, which managed his business. This amount was described as residual income and bonuses, for which the actor hoped to pay tax at a rate of 10% instead of the maximum rate of 52%.
However, the court did not support Grint's arguments and stated that this money is income derived from his acting career.
This is not the first Time the actor has lost a tax case. Previously, in 2019, he unsuccessfully tried to reclaim £1 million in tax.
