New employment rules for foreigners in Poland: what Ukrainians can expect from 2025.

Poland is preparing for changes in foreign employment legislation
The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy of Poland is finalizing the development of a new bill that includes significant changes to the employment regulations for foreigners. According to the Polish information channel, the document, currently under public discussion, may come into effect from January 1, 2025.
The main innovation will be the mandatory conclusion of an employment contract with foreign workers who receive a work permit. For seasonal workers, mandate contracts will be available. Over 125,000 employers and more than a million foreign workers will be involved in these changes, including workers from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia, who work under a mandate declaration.
The registration of the mandate declaration for foreigners will only be possible with the conclusion of an employment contract. This is recorded in articles 28 and 59 of the project, which define the conditions for obtaining permits for foreigners.
The main goals of these innovations are to strengthen the protection of foreign workers' rights, regulate the labor market and simplify the hiring process for both seasonal and long-term employment.
The next stage in reviewing the bill will be its discussion by the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers, after which the document will be submitted to the government for consideration.
