Strong winds, thunderstorms, hail, and downpours have caused damage in several regions of Ukraine. In particular, the natural disaster hit Lviv region, Volyn, Transcarpathia, Bukovina, Prykarpattia, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, and Rivne regions. With reference to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, this was reported by 'Glavkom'.

«Rescuers are addressing the aftermath of the storm in dozens of settlements. The most common damages include fallen trees on roads, severed power lines, broken roofs, and damaged vehicles», – the statement noted.

The situation in the regions

In Transcarpathia, over 50 damaged roofs were recorded in the village of Badiv, where 20 rescue operations removed 22 trees that had fallen on roads, power lines, and yards.

In Volyn region, more than 40 rescuers and 11 units of equipment worked in Kovel, Lutsk, and Volodymyr districts. They were removing trees from roads and streets to ensure safe traffic.

In Chernivtsi region, over 1400 square meters of roofing on houses, businesses, and administrative buildings were damaged. Trees fell on roads, houses, and cars. A total of 41 rescuers and 11 units of equipment were involved in the cleanup of the aftermath.

In Prykarpattia, rescuers responded 12 times, 10 of them for clearing fallen trees from parked cars. One piece of roofing fell onto the road.

In Lviv region, the storm knocked down trees in cities and villages, blocking roads and damaging private property.

Further actions of the rescuers

«In many settlements, the elimination of the aftermath of the bad weather is ongoing. Dozens of rescuers and special equipment are involved in these works. Thanks to their prompt actions, traffic has been quickly restored, new damages have been prevented, and the safety of residents ensured», – rescuers emphasize.

Recall that on July 7, a strong storm with thunder and gusty winds occurred in Lviv and the region. Video footage documented the wind breaking trees and raising a sandstorm.

The thunderstorm front with strong winds also swept through Bukovina, Prykarpattia, and Rivne. In several districts, falling trees and power outages were recorded.

Due to the cleanup of the aftermath in the region, on July 8, the passage operations at the 'Dzyvinkove - Lonia' checkpoint at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border were temporarily suspended.

After the danger in Lviv region and other areas, cleanup operations were quickly carried out, but in some localities, infrastructure is still being restored and the safety of residents ensured. Rescuers remain on duty in case of further natural disasters, ready to respond quickly and assist the population.
