In Odessa, four hospitals have become energy independent (video).

In four medical institutions in Odessa, solar panels were installed on the roofs to ensure the operation of hospitals. This will solve the problem of electricity shortages during blackouts and save money. This was reported by the Odessa City Council.
The director of the Odessa City Council's health department, Levon Nikogosyan, explained that the generators ensuring the operation of hospitals cannot withstand 8-10 hours of power cuts. Therefore, they decided to switch the hospitals to autonomous power supply using solar panels.
“We see that today in those of our hospitals where solar stations are already installed, this leads to savings both in terms of money and electricity”, said Levon Nikogosyan.
One of these stations is located on the roof of the Odessa City Hospital. According to the deputy director of the institution, Vitaliy Nespanenko, such equipment reduces the load on the city budget and improves independence from the power grid.
The maintenance of such a system is very simple, noted Dmitry Zykov, a representative of LLC “LK Energy Group”. He also added that such a station will pay off in 3-5 years and can operate for at least 20 years.
Levon Nikogosyan stated that in the department of capital construction they continue to develop plans, and solar stations will be installed in almost all hospitals.
Let us remind you that representatives of nine southern European Union countries stated that they focus on producing offshore wind and solar energy to turn the Mediterranean into a hub of renewable energy and reduce risks associated with climate change.
